Artist StatementARTISTS STATEMENTPerceptions If steel transforms its Hardness, Rigidity, Mass Into such words as Slight, Sensuous, Supple, Airlike, Does its essence still remain? If its aura, Not its form, Is what fills steel with Grandeur If its colour, Not its rust, Is what fills steel with Presence Does its essence still remain? If it stops being empty, If it stops being full, If it simply stops standing there, And starts “Being”, Does its essence still remain? If steel stops being lifeless And starts breathing, Transforming itself everyday, Would you say it is alive? And Art? Is it no longer art By having no definition? Or does its essence Really lie In “not being defined”? So, then… Is Art not The human ability to Bestow upon the senses Perceptions from the SOUL? © Teo. San José. | |
